Whey Protein Price in Pakistan: Concentrate vs Isolate and What to Buy
Walk into any supplement shop in Pakistan and you will see whey protein at very different price points. Same word on the tub, very different cost. Prices also change with stock, imports and exchange rates, so this guide skips fixed numbers and instead explains what drives the gap, so you can pick a protein that suits your training and your budget. Current prices are always shown on each product page.
What whey protein actually is
Whey is a protein that comes from milk. It digests quickly, contains all the essential amino acids and is one of the easiest ways to hit a daily protein target without cooking another meal. It does not replace real food. It fills the gap when food alone is not convenient.
Most people who lift regularly aim for roughly 1.6 to 2.2 grams of protein per kilo of body weight a day. A typical scoop gives around 20 to 25 grams, so one or two scoops a day covers a useful part of that.
Concentrate vs isolate
This is the biggest reason prices differ.
- Whey concentrate is the standard form. It usually contains somewhere around 70 to 80 percent protein by weight, with a little lactose and fat. It tastes good and costs less.
- Whey isolate is filtered further, so it is typically over 90 percent protein with very little lactose and fat. It usually costs more, and it is the better pick if regular whey upsets your stomach or you are cutting calories closely.
For most people building muscle on a normal diet, concentrate is perfectly fine. Isolate is worth the extra money when lactose bothers you or you want the leanest option.

How to compare two protein tubs fairly
- Look at protein per serving, not the price on the tub. Divide the current price by the number of servings, then check grams of protein in each one.
- Check the serving size. A 40 gram scoop with 24 grams of protein is not the same as a 30 gram scoop with 24 grams.
- Read the label for added sugar and fillers. Protein should make up most of the scoop.
- Match the form to your body. If dairy gives you gas or bloating, try isolate before blaming protein in general.
Avoiding fake protein powder
Counterfeit tubs do circulate in the local market. Check for an intact safety seal, a legible batch number and expiry date, and consistent print quality on the label. A price far below what other sellers charge for the same product is a warning sign, not a bargain.
Which whey should you pick?
- Starting out on a budget: a straightforward concentrate.
- Dairy upsets your stomach: an isolate such as Skull Labs, Shadowhey or Proscience.
- Cutting and tracking calories closely: isolate for the higher protein to calorie ratio.
- Trying to gain weight: whey helps, but a calorie dense mass gainer may fit better.
Whey protein price in Pakistan: common questions
Why does whey protein price change so often?
Most supplements in Pakistan are imported, so prices follow exchange rates, shipping costs and stock levels.
Is whey protein safe?
For healthy adults, whey protein is generally considered safe as part of a balanced diet. Anyone with a milk allergy, kidney disease or another medical condition should check with a doctor first.
When should I take whey protein?
Total daily protein matters more than timing. Many people take a scoop after training or between meals because it is convenient.
Will whey protein make me bulky?
No. Whey is just protein. Gaining size depends on your total calories and your training.
